How to Care and Maintain Your Terrarium
🌞Placement
Place your terrarium in a spot where it receives bright, indirect sunlight or under a suitable artificial light source designed for plants. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as this can cause overheating and potentially damage the delicate plants inside.
💧 Watering
Once your terrarium is well established, you can reduce the frequency of watering—especially if it is a closed terrarium, which requires very little moisture. Watch for light condensation forming on the inside of the glass; this is a positive sign of balanced humidity. However, if you notice heavy condensation or water pooling at the bottom:
Open the lid briefly each day to allow excess moisture to escape and prevent mold growth.
Be sure to replace the lid afterward to keep the necessary humidity levels consistent.
🧼 Cleaning
Regularly wipe down both the inside and outside surfaces of the glass with a soft cloth or paper towel. This helps keep the glass clear of dust and smudges, ensuring that your plants continue to receive adequate natural or artificial light for healthy growth.
✂ Maintenance & Pruning
If your terrarium becomes overcrowded or overgrown:
Trim back any plants and moss that have spread excessively.
Remove dead or yellowing leaves promptly to prevent decay and maintain a tidy appearance.
Adjust the overall layout carefully to restore the terrarium’s original aesthetic balance and promote the health of all the plants inside.
